Meet the newest member of our team - Georgi Iliev!

• How long have you been part of the team?

- Since one month from the first of November.

• What is your work at the law firm related to ?

- Mainly intellectual property cases, but they are often intertwined with other areas of law, which only makes them more interesting.

• How does your working day start in the office ?

- With a cold coke, because I don't drink coffee, greet my colleagues and then try to organize my tasks for the day.

• Why did you choose to do this ?

- Because for me ideas are as important as the material objects that are created from them, and intellectual property rights are the only way to protect them. If the question is why I chose KGK, it's because it introduces me to interesting cases and cool colleagues. I think it's a great place to develop my knowledge.

• The most interesting case you have worked on ?

- From my short stay at the firm, certainly the case of patenting a virtual reality chair. It required research into an interesting subject matter and I learned a lot of new things.

• What does George like to do when he is not at work ?

- I like to play sports, mainly I do fitness and calisthenics, as well as swimming and tennis. Outside of physical activity, I'm quite an enthusiastic reader on all sorts of subjects.

• If you were not a lawyer what do you think you would do ?

- I would become an engineer to create something lasting.

• What is your favourite cliché from movies and TV shows related to law ? Why is it so far from reality ?

- There are many, but if I had to pick one it would certainly be the ability of screen lawyers to look at a document for three seconds and get a clear idea of what it says, and be ready with a strategy of what to do about it. It doesn't work like that, sometimes requiring hours of reading, and it creates a misconception of how things work for colleagues who have yet to enter practice.
