Huge amount of delayed salaries in 2024

Over BGN 10.9 million are the delayed salaries for 2024 according to the information of the control bodies of the Executive Agency "Главна инспекция по труда" (GIT). The inspectors have identified 21 531 violations related to the payment of wages, of which 5 728 relate to the charging and payment of wages by the employer in the agreed amounts and terms. 

In addition to the above, last year the GIT filed 12 petitions for initiation of insolvency proceedings against employers who delayed the payment of wages for more than two months to at least 1/3 of the employees.
